Opportunity
Shelbourne, one of Hartford’s only multi property landlords was seeking a way to increase demand and foot traffic on the southern side of Pratt St. While the majority of their ground floor retail spaces are occupied, an opportunity existed to program some of the underutilized space.
Our Proposal
Under our Pop!initiative, PoP! Hartford is the first dedicated table tennis hall that introduces a low cost, low overhead activity to the vacant space at 55 Pratt Street. While PoP! is intentionally a semi-ambiguous name; it finds it’s meaning in the fact that it is a “pop up” but also rooted in the power of play (POP) in everyday life, specifically Central Business Districts (CBDs). The overall goal is to provide a for-profit operation that promotes instant social infrastructure on one of Downtown Hartford’s most dynamic streets.
